Standards for Conscious Sedation in the Provision of Dental Care
Intercollegiate Advisory Committee for Sedation in Dentistry (IACSD). 2020 (V1.1). Remains the published UK national standard for dental conscious sedation as of September 2026; the CQC directs dental sedation providers to this document. A revised 2026 standards document is currently being finalised by IACSD — this entry will be updated to reflect it on publication.
Scope note: this standard is dental-specific by its own title and stated scope. Reserve it for claims about dental sedation; claims about the medical procedure case-mix (GI endoscopy, bronchoscopy, orthopaedic, gynaecological work, etc.) should cite AoMRC Safe Sedation Practice below instead, or alongside it only where a claim is genuinely dental.
